As an accountant with over 30 years of field experience, Sherrie Weiland holds a variety of responsibilities in her role for Educational Tours, Inc., including auditing trips after they take place to ensure all vendors have been paid in full, creating pre-trip packets for tour managers and paying other various company bills. Take a moment to get to know Sherrie a bit better!

A self-proclaimed homebody, Sherrie enjoys working on projects around her house outside, gardening, going to concerts and spending time with her German Shepherd. Music is Sherrie’s forte, as she enjoys anything from the ‘60s to mid- ‘80s, and favors country, easy listening and rock genres.

“I can pretty much give you a song lyric for every situation,” Sherrie said. “And most of the time, they are classic song lyrics!”

What’s your most treasured travel memory, or the best thing you’ve learned while traveling?

My best travel memory was going to Costa Rica with my daughter the year she graduated with her Spanish class.

If you were stranded in an airport, what three things would you want with you?

Pillow, music and money!

What’s one thing you would recommend every student group do while traveling?

Enjoy the trip and the adventure—and go with the flow!

What destination do you most want to visit?

I would love to go visit Germany where my family came from.

What’s your favorite activity while traveling, or something you’ve always wanted to try?

When I have traveled, just being at the beach is what I enjoy the most.  When I did Costa Rica, I enjoyed the bus time driving around and seeing the whole country.
