NEWS AND BLOG

Keep up to date on all the student travel news you need to know.

Part of what makes ETI’s work so successful is regularly hitting the road and connecting with educators to share how ETI can help make their student trips an unforgettable success.

The ETI team has been keeping busy, to say the least, with a presence at multiple conferences across the nation the past couple months, including the Michigan Music Conference, Illinois Music Education Conference, Missouri Music Educators Association Conference, the Ohio Music Education Association Conference and more.

Included in the team’s travels was a trip in December 2023, which saw ETI travel consultants Kim Burger, CSTP and Jennifer Orkisz travel to The Midwest International Band, Orchestra and Music Conference in Chicago. The Conference, which ETI regularly attends, is a major event focusing on industry trends and future topics in business and music education. With more than 18,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 40 countries, the conference is one of the many events like it that offer the ideal opportunity for ETI to meet educators, share how ETI can help them make their travel planning as easy as possible, in addition to reconnecting with existing clients to thank them for their business.

CONFERENCE PREP

Of course, preparation for a conference is done with careful forethought and intentional planning. In addition to ETI team members taking time out of their busy schedules to travel and attend these conferences, the ETI team ensures the company booth is prepared to be shipped to the conference floor (where they personally both set it up and tear it down), take one-on-one appointments and more.

WE’VE ARRIVED!

Once the ETI team has arrived at their destination, the excitement and events immediately start rolling. The team can often to be found following up with directors on existing trip planning, taking drop-by appointments on the fly, creating and placing advertisements (if the situation calls for it), meeting up with industry partners who help make all of ETI’s trips a success (including big names like Universal and Disney) and many more. Of course, the team ensures they make time to do some sightseeing as well, in order to see, vet and experience firsthand activities and attractions students themselves would enjoy during a visit to that destination.

WHY ATTEND CONFERENCES?

Networking, camaraderie and education are among the many reasons ETI prioritizes having a presence at conferences. It’s here that the team stays on top of the latest industry trends, hears the concerns and questions being asked by educators, and shows support for the student music education industry and its recent achievements. It’s also not uncommon for the ETI team to spark curiosity through conversation and educate those music educators who are considering travel for their groups perhaps for the first time!

By attending conferences, ETI has an immense opportunity to create awareness of its services and what differentiates ETI from its competitors. This includes sharing with educators the company’s strong involvement and support from the Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA), the premier association of businesses dedicated to providing life-enhancing travel experiences to students and young people.
