Seek out Adventure and Education in San Antonio!

Home to over 300 years of tradition and heritage—along with the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Texas—San Antonio offers students a number of great attractions and incredible educational and performance opportunities they’ll be sure to remember forever. From strolling the famed River Walk to taking in the sights, come explore what else the second largest city in the Lone Star State brings to the table!

History buffs will find no shortage of attractions in San Antonio. Located within the city are multiple Spanish missions, century old cathedrals, and of course, the Alamo (originally known as Misión San Antonio de Valero)! With a free visit to the Alamo, students could witness the 4.2-acre complex and Alamo Gardens where in 1836, approximately 200 Texan defenders held the Alamo from over 2,500 of General Santa Anna’s troops from Mexico.

Thrills abound in San Antonio, thanks to the rides and coasters found at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The park’s newest ride—Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger—stands at 150 feet tall and is the steepest dive coaster in the world!

There are also a bounty of venues offering performance opportunities in San Antonio, which are sure to give students an experience of a lifetime. San Antonio’s performing arts scene includes a wide variety of entertainment, from Mariachi groups on the River Walk to Broadway shows and the San Antonio Philharmonic.

With its beautiful blend of Mexican and American history, it’s easy to see why San Antonio is a popular destination for students.
