Meet the Team: Jennifer Orkisz

Jennifer Orkisz, a travel consultant at Educational Tours Inc., taught vocal music for 25 years prior to landing at ETI. As an educator, Orkisz traveled with her choir students and saw the value of student travel firsthand.

“They loved it!” Orkisz said. “Traveling with my ensembles gave my students new venues to sing in, time with professionals in clinics and the ability to see professional level performances and was a great recruitment tool. It also made me realize that with the choir trips we took, many of my students were able to travel for the first time!”

Take a moment to get to know Jen!

Where is your favorite destination?

The Cinque Terre, Italy. The coastline took my breath away!

What’s your most treasured travel memory, or the best thing you’ve learned while traveling?

There are so many treasured memories from traveling! One of my favorites is when my husband surprised me on one of my school choir trips to Walt Disney World. He proposed next to the Walt and Mickey statue in front of Cinderella’s castle. My students got to see it happen and it was very magical.

If you were stranded in an airport, what three things would you want with you?

My phone charger, snacks and my glasses!

What destination on your bucket list do you most want to visit?

Currently I am looking forward to visiting Scotland.

What’s your favorite activity while traveling, or something you’ve always wanted to try?

I love going to restaurants and signing up for tours!

What do you love about travel?

Travel has allowed me to realize there is so much out there to learn and explore. It gives me a perspective of other cultures and different ways of life. It’s fascinating!
