Behind all of the dream trips and unforgettable adventures are the ETI team members who help make them a reality. Take a moment to get to know Shannon Romein, Logistics Coordinator for Educational Tours, Inc.!
What is your favorite part about your job?
“I love putting together the itineraries. Most of the places I’ve been to before, so I know how much fun these kids are going to have and how much they’ll get out of this experience.”
What’s your most treasured travel memory, or the best thing you’ve learned while traveling?
“The summer I spent in London for my study abroad. Most trips are just a short period but over the course of a couple months there, I really got the locals experience. I had a favorite noodle shop and went to the grocery store—it felt like much more than just a vacation.”
If you were stranded in an airport, what three things would you want with you?
“Snacks, a good book and my cell phone … so I can call an Uber to come take me to somewhere more comfortable.”
What’s one thing you would recommend every student group do while traveling?
“Have some meals on their own. I think being able to manage your own money and balance needs vs. wants are important life skills.”
What destination on your bucket list do you most want to visit?
“It is so hard to choose just one; there are so many places still left I want to explore in the world! At the top probably would be Greece because it is so amazingly beautiful and there is so much history to explore there.”
What’s your favorite activity while traveling, or something you’ve always wanted to try?
“I’ve always wanted to try whitewater rafting. I’ve never done it before because I am not a great swimmer. Hopefully this summer I’ll have that opportunity to push past those fears and finally try it out. Wish me luck!”
